Cambridge Packaging, Inc. was founded in 1982.  Our founders, Dick and Peggy Knellinger, started the business working out of their home.  Four years later, they moved the home-based operation to a rented, 8,000 square foot facility, located at 125 Steubenville Ave.  Once there, they began making stock and custom-sized boxes.  In 1988, they bought the building and expanded their operations utilizing all 17,000 square feet of building space. 

 

In June 1992, Cambridge Packaging, Inc. broke ground for a 10,000 square foot addition which included a new retail Box & Gift Shop. The shop provided UPS shipping, gift wrapping, packing supplies, gift boxes, shipping boxes, and packing service.

 

Seven years later, we broke ground for an 87,500 square foot facility on Rt. 209 at 60794 Southgate Road, which was completed in 2000.

In 2002, our company reached a milestone when we celebrated our 20^th anniversary.  This achievement was made possible thanks to the continued support from our loyal customers, and our hard working employees.

Sadly, our founder Dick Knellinger passed away in 2004, after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer.  However, we continue to grow thanks to the leadership of Peggy (CEO), and her children Larry (President/GM), Bill (Sales Manager), Rick (Production Manager), and Kim Hannan (Box & Gift Shop Manager).

 

In June of 2005, we broke ground for a 33,750 square foot expansion to the facility.  This project was designed to help us better serve our customers by increasing our warehousing capabilities, while adding space for new equipment.  The new addition was completed in October of 2005, bringing our facility's total square footage to 121,250.
